Hi! Welcome to the 2016 Research Bazaar Global survey. From global organisations like Software Carpentry, Mozilla Science Lab and the Software Sustainability Institute, to local university departments like the D-Lab at Berkeley and Research Platform Services at Melbourne, there are many groups around the world dedicated to helping researchers improve their digital research skills. The purpose of this survey is to give those groups a clearer picture of their audience. What digital research tools are people using? How are they using them? Are there other tools they'd like to be using but don't have the skills, knowledge or time? With this information in hand, these organisations and departments will be better able to tailor their activities to the needs of the research community. The survey also doubles as an optional part of the application process for the 2016 Research Bazaar conference, so there's a few questions in there to help the conference organisers monitor the diversity of their audience (e.g. in terms of gender, geography, research institution, etc, etc). Some ResBaz sites might require this survey to be filled and therefore you'll receive an application code at the end of the survey that can be used at those ResBaz sites (Of course, you're still welcome to fill out the survey even if you're not coming to ResBaz!).
