Almost 300 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in @NYCSchools yesterday. Thats 1,274 total cases in 5 school days. How many people have to get sick and how many classrooms and schools have to close before @NYCMayor and @DOEChancellor decide to #RestoreRemote?

Thanks @JumaaneWilliams for standing with parents as we continue to call on @NYCMayor @NYCSchools to #RestoreRemote for our students. Thanks @AfrocenCHICK and @safeschoolsny for keeping parents informed and helping them to navigate this system.

So grateful next #peoplesPEP will be remote as @NYCSchools @DOEChancellor acknowledged more engagement & participation. Panel member sed remote worked for many kids & we should learn.

...Like why not a full student #RemoteOptionNow if this meeting's now remote? #RestoreRemote

@DOEChancellor had to leave for another forum, otherwise I would've asked about ventilation, overcrowding, lies on summer school closure (sorry @DavidLove26!) But I did get to talk with PEP member @tomcsheppard who's been advocating a #RemoteOptionNow thank you!! #RestoreRemote

"With remote learning not an option now, this year we’ll find out how dangerous this virus is for children in the worst way possible."

We need to #RestoreRemote now. "Learning loss" will be far worse w/ the trauma/anxiety of students & staff getting sick. <a href="http://on.theatln.tc/E6gMiUo" class="hover:underline text-blue-600 dark:text-sky-400 no-card-link" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-link="bsky">http://on.theatln.tc/E6gMiUo

Update: we've got a declining roster of students; because of that my principal may be able to move my class to a classroom with windows. We'll see! 🤞🏻

I think we're about to see thousands and thousands move out of @NYCSchools because there's no #RemoteOptionNow #restoreremote...

I was fine tonight until I read the @UFT email, then remembered how many of my school's staff were out Friday. The anxiety right now is unreal. 3.6k teachers & 3k aides needing subs across @NYCschools. What the hell else has to give before we #RestoreRemote? #RemoteOptionNow...

8 away from 1,000 signatures! Please support our @NYCSchools students & families who want/need a remote option this fall: sign then share! Y'all know remote learning is hard but I'm here advocating for families who want us to #RestoreRemote...

"And suddenly now it’s back to school while cases are rising, back to school while masks are a battleground, back to school while everyone under 12 is still unvaccinated...except this time, no matter what, kids are going back." #RestoreRemote @TheAtlantic <a href="http://on.theatln.tc/E6gMiUo" class="hover:underline text-blue-600 dark:text-sky-400 no-card-link" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-link="bsky">http://on.theatln.tc/E6gMiUo

"the only real difference btwn. this year & last is that the most effective tool for keeping our kids safe—remote school—seems to be off the table...now we’re stuck w/ full-on, 30-kids-in-a-room, wide-open school as the Delta variant rages." #RestoreRemote

Oh, most families DON'T want to be in-person school! 😡 Our school districts owe it to families to provide a remote option. #RestoreRemote "Before July 27, 58%.. surveyed said they wanted their children in a classroom full time this year. Afterward.....
