I'm sure someone smarter than me can explain the qualms and issues with using Retroshare (other than the IP sharing, no shit I am well aware and you have resources to obscure that or you only add those you trust) but being able to direct transfer and chat about shit sounds so pleasant.

You just can't do this on the many peer-to-peer social networks. How is US gov going to see my Aether, Reticulum, RetroShare and Qortal profiles ;-) I don't think they know what they are asking for.
