there are going to be some incredibly retrospectives written on the inevitable crash and burn of Bari as CBS EIC
NEW from me:

Several CBS News staffers and insiders told me that the network "is not a good place now" amid the imminent arrival of Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief, who one source likened to Michael Scott of The Office based on her lack of qualifications.

CBS News staffers are ‘literally freaking out’ about Bari Weiss taking over newsroom
EXCLUSIVE: ‘People are using words like depressing and doomsday – feels like some sort of doomsday,’ one source told The Independent about the mood inside CBS News right now.

Okay, so now that it’s been a few hours, let me just say:

We need fewer pandemic retrospectives that insist we need a reckoning because right-wingers got mad.

We need more pandemic retrospectives that examine how dark money groups have been undermining science.
This article reveals disengagement on the part of the author with the subject matter.

Big right-wing money undermined public health to block what should have been a moment of major systemic change.

A million+ died, millions more got long COVID, and the virus is still circulating.

Reckon with that
America — and the media — needs a Covid reckoning
Our Covid mistakes did lasting damage. No one wants to talk about it.

The single most impactful social/cultural development over the last decade (that virtually no retrospectives of "woke" have engaged in) is the new elite consensus that moral judgement is itself inherently illegitimate.
not only that, they are demanding that they not be called racist when they are observed to be signing up to support the racist

looking forward to all the detailed retrospectives of how many times trump blamed vandals for this
The contractor that renovated the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool has told the Trump administration that errors in its own work and flaws in the repair plan, not vandalism, caused the pool’s new blue liner to peel and break loose, documents show.
Reflecting Pool Contractor Blames Its Own Repairs, Not Vandals, for Damage
The contractor said the pool’s new blue liner peeled and tore because of “human oversight” and a flawed plan that involved layering two incompatible chemicals, documents show.

He doesn't deserve retrospectives or eulogies or even takes. The best, most appropriate reaction we can have, the one that would have made him shake with impotent rage the most, is to simply laugh, shrug, and immediately forget he ever existed. Quislings don't get monuments.

I think it's time to finally do it...

Really been feeling the urge to go back to being purely a scrimblo bimblo platformer YouTuber for a while.

PS2 era platformer retrospectives, random indie shoutouts, bad Sonic games

Feeling nostalgic for the late 2010's
