Cardinal Lorenzo Mari Cybo, nephew of Innocebt VIII, and other cardinals, like Raffaele Riario, great-nephew of Sixtus IV, were part of a colossal revival of interest in the art of ancient Rome toward the end of the C15. This spolia is interesting because it is public urban decoration, not private.
