Frankly if any demographic has "sex-based rights" in a patriarchal society it's cis men.

In 2023, our team created an interactive guide to rights the Supreme Court has established — and could take away.

Most rights are based in statute, but rights to same-sex marriage, search warrants and Miranda warnings are based on judicial rulings that the Supreme Court can overturn. ⤵️

framing trans rights as in opposition to women’s rights is a neat trick given that trans rights *are* women’s rights.

bodily autonomy, personal agency, opposition to sex based harassment, violence, and discrimination. these are trans rights and women’s rights. attacking one is attacking the other.

The concept of "sex-based rights" is one of the most insane things I've ever seen. You do not gain rights based on which sex you belong too. If you believe in equality, no sex is entitled to more rights than any other. We don't have "race-based rights" either. That would be apartheid.

“Sex based rights” means men having rights no other group is allowed:

Bryan MacCormack, the executive director of a New York-based immigrant rights group, was pulled over by CBP with two undocumented passengers in the vehicle. He knew his rights, refused to acknowledge their "warrant", and despite CBP threatening him, the agents eventually were forced to let him go.

Indeed. This point can't be stressed enough. "Sex-based" is a term we've always used to describe *discrimination*, and its sudden mainstreaming as pseudo-feminism in the UK reveals it as a poison that unravels the entire liberal democratic architecture of civil rights.

I wrote about it here.

No one should be discriminated against based on their sex. It’s long past time for women’s equal rights to be recognized in our Constitution.

If a secdef violating the 14th amendment rights of US servicemembers by denying promotions based on race isn’t impeachable then I don’t see what is. The man would rather the military be racist than effective.

Total shocker. Alito’s argument for why black people don’t need voting rights protections is based on fraudulent statistics.
Supreme court’s Voting Rights Act ruling cited misleading data from DoJ
Exclusive: Data in justice department filing quoted by Samuel Alito in his opinion relied on unusual methodology, a Guardian analysis has found

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito leaned on an erroneous claim that Black voter turnout now tops white voter turnout, in his Callais v. Louisiana ruling that gutted the Voting Rights Act, reports The Guardian. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
SCOTUS used faulty racial voter turnout data to shred Voting Rights Act in recent ruling
The ruling that upended the Voting Rights Act was based in part on a false data analysis about Black and white voter turnout.

BREAKING: An immigration court determined our client Mahmoud Khalil to be removable from the U.S. based solely on his political speech.

The entire edifice of "sex-based rights" is an absurd moral and legal fiction wearing feminism's stolen clothes--and it seems this group of people promoting "Christian Rights" are trying a similar trick. The UK has fertilised itself for this perfidy with its own bullshit.

Democracy is at risk.
The UK right's current political project is to co-opt the language of antidiscrimination to make bigotry legally unimpeachable.

The reason this is so dangerous is that "sex-based rights" smuggles a perverse idea into the heart of the law: the idea that you should get special rights because of your immutable biology. This is the *opposite* of what civil rights law is meant to achieve.

By the way, Israel is using the same logic Russia is using to claim Ukraine, some bullshit about ancient kingdoms and property rights based on myths. Same shit different asshole.
Netanyahu, who's family originates from Lithuania and Russia, claims the Golan Heights belong to Israel and not Syria, based on the Bible.

I know it’s an old and hackneyed point but I always go back to it.

Suffragettes fought *against* the notion of sex based rights; sex based rights were the ones men had and women didn’t. It was seen as appalling to deny people rights based on their biology.
Reality check: "Women's hard won rights":

- did NOT include defining women by biology, the slogan was "biology is not destiny!"

- did NOT seek sex segregation, they fought for inclusion of women

- did NOT advocate "sex-based rights", they fought AGAINST that and FOR equality regardless of sex
