Those and rivnuts have changed my life

Need to build some measuring stations and applied #rivnuts instead of straight nuts. Less messing around to keep them in place. Rivnuts are meant for steel but thick enough PVC accepts them too with some care. Keep the drilled holes as small and round as possible and carefully crimp the rivnuts.

Dermal anchors are just Rivnuts for people.

Also I appreciate that they have used rivnuts in place of having to do bolt and nut or machine screws for most of the assembly points

Got plane cut to size, holes drilled and painted then drilled more holes into cars side skirt for rivnuts. Trying a new way to add the extensions with rivnuts and bolts instead of self tap screws

reading up on it and most people use adhesive or velcro to attach their headliners in these cars. not a huge fan of that.

I think a few rivnuts set in the ceiling, ridgid backing, foam or wool, some finish fabric, then some screws to hold it in place.... Hmmm, gonna have to do more research.

what is the 2010 power retractable hard top constructed of? I assume it's fiberglass with a plastic liner.... in which case some careful drilling could potentially mount some snaps to it at strategic points using rivets? or perhaps rivnuts could be used to screw the acoustic panel into place?

Self-drilling screws are easy. Rivnuts are better.

There is almost no workmanship in American products anymore, and this is due to the bean-counters that pay minimum wages and buy cheap fastening solutions.

I think the two it has now are rivnuts lol I’ll look closer. I’ll get proper bosses put on and fix a few other things when it goes to paint

third rivnut tool acquired......... the 2nd one wouldn't fit rivnuts big enough for the larger holes, so i had to go back to the shopping cart... hopefully this time does the trick lmfao

i also need to order more wire, but thankfully i only have two more wire runs to complete, and then the walls can go up permanently (once all the rivnuts are in place)(and probably i'll paint the walls first)

I got my rivnuts and a tool that was supposed to be an easier way to install them, but I can’t get a single one in 🥴 I’m gonna hit it with some wd40 and hope that helps, but my expectations are on the ground
