Ben Ginsberg is an election attorney. You may remember his name from his time working for George W. Bush and Mitt Romney’s presidential campaigns. He was national counsel for the Bush/Cheney campaign during the 2000 election and played a big role in the Florida recount.

Again the reason the Covid-era Expanded Child tax credit and proposals like Mitt Romney's to make it permanent didn't stick is because children can't vote and parents of young children are a tiny voting block. So when it didn't happen there was almost zero pushback in media or activist groups.
you could do it like a classic European socdem-Christian Dem compromise, we get free daycare, you get stay at home parent subsidy. if Republicans wanted to offer that bargain to, say, President AOC I guarantee she'd accept it in a heartbeat
