Panel 1: We see Darjeeling and Rooibos the Springhare alongside Peppermint the red squirrel and Bohea the grasshopper mouse. A worn out Rooibos is opening the door to enter the Clerk office and talking to an unimpressed Darjeeling, while Peppermint and Bohea look at a small contact card. Rooibos: "Lets.. Let's just make arrangements." Panel 2: Inside the backroom of the clerk office we can see... a snake! A rather large snake who isa adorned with a throw around her coils. And in said coils is a mouse! Both look very relaxed with the snout of the snake touching the top of the mouses head. Snake: "You know I only will if you say ye-" Panel 3: The snakes eyes widen in surprise, someone has entered her abode to inturrupt her time alone with a helpless rodent! Panel 4: The snake looks towards the source of the sounds in the front room. Such sound being Rooibos calling out: "Mala? Are you in the back office?"

The rest of Darjeeling the Springhares day: Panel 1: Darjeeling spends some time with her sister Rooibos and stands at ease while rolling her eyes as Rooibos complains about this and that as Rooibos collexts some clothing after stripping down to her underware to change. Panel 2: Now free and wanting to work out some physical tension, Darheeling has started some of her praticing with her quarterstaff against a pole-mannequin, keeping her stance stable as she taps at the pole arms. Panel 3, 4: After Training, Bohea heads down to the Clerk office at an unusually late time to see Mala the snake. Bohea happily relaxed against a coil and strokes a rather person-sized bulge in Mala's coil, clearly the mouse earlier met it's fate as a snake meal. Darjeeling is holding one of the Life Tokens Harry the Red Squirrel brought to Mala. Both look relaxed. Panel 6: Mala gives a satified belch as Darjeeling looks on, silently blushing at the sight of Mala finsihing off whoever was in her coils, judging by the little heard in the bealtch the meal victim was clearly rather at peace with their situation as they were gurgled down~ Panel 7, 8: The roken in Darjeeling's pawfingers glows as it's enchantments take hole, the token reducing to nothingness as the mouse from earlier reappears safe and sound, peacefully sleeping with a paw under her head, using one of Mala's coils as a pillow. So it seems this is why Mala wanted so many tokens... Panel 9: With everything taken care of... now it's Darjeelings turn to end her night within Mala's coils. The snage qraps up Darjeeling, with far more coils then a snake would need to restrain a springhare. Darjeeling looks like she's enjoying the squeeze as Mala looks on as she squeezes away on the springhare, Malas nsetip near Darjeelings own nose, leaving it up to the viewer if those jaws will open up to glide over the squeezed rodents blissed-out form or not~

Panel 1: Mala the snake talks to Rooibos and Darjeeling the springhares. Mala: "Ah, perfect. I've booked time with the Smithy, should be ready for tomorrow. Oh, no tents listed. That reminds me, I can also book a lodge in Guildtown ahead of-" Rooibos, inturrupting: "I'm certain this good weather will see us through." Panel 2 and 3: Rooibos waves off the accomadation offer also, saying "We can arrange accomadation on arrival, I've heard there's a tradition at Guildtown for newcomer Adventurers such as us." Bohead casually pops up from below the counter at that, adding in "Rooie's a tight-tail 'cos she wants to buy better loot at Guildtown", to the surprise of rooibos. Panel 4: Bohea leans across the counter to whisper very loudly to Mala "She's broke as hell getting all this set up and can't afford anywhere in Guildtown~ Rooie and Darjeeling will have to pole dance in a brothel so we can get a room while Peppers can pim-" Rooibos inturrupts with a horrified "BOHEA!"... As darjeeling looks at Rooibos accusingly.. She wouldn't actually do that.... would she? Darjeeling seems to think she would! Panel 5: judging by her expression Mala is also shocked by what Bohea is saying, being a gentle soul of a snake. Sadly such shock has repucussions as the poor mouse still in her coils in the back room has a nice good reflex-squeeze, just as nature intended! Meanwhile Bohea carries on this teasing, saying "Oh come off it! I'm just sayin' it like i'is!" Rooibos: "You are NOT!" Bohea: "Am too!"

Panel 1: Mala, regaining a more happy composure as she turns her attention to Peppermint the red squirrel, says "I hear you'llbe needing some Bonewood China specifically thrown for the Mages enchanted items, dear?" Peppermint awkwardly replies with a smile as she rubs the back of her head: "Oh! I.. er.. I've already fixed that up. Just need to collect from the potters tomorrow morning." Mala: Oh, no problem at all sweetie! Now, would anyone want a hummingmoth scroll sent? I doubt they'll be warm enough before you go tomorrow." Panel 2: Peppermint holds up a scroll she has prepared. "Actually, yes. I do need the Mages to look over my schematics before we arrive." Panel 3: Mala uses her tailtip to coil around Peppermint's arm, slinking around and around from her wrist to her elbow, looking at the scroll. While Peppermint is rathe rsurprised by the amount of coiling, Mala looks like she is enjoying the physical contact, almsot pulling Peppermint closer over the counter, and showing the size difference btween the two. Mala: "I'll happily keep this under wraps for you~" Panel 4: Peppermint is looking at the tailtip coiled around her arm silently with a trace of preyish freeze in her, while Mala looks up at Darjeeling, the snake's natural interest in Peppermint broken as Darjeeling looks at Mala with her arms crossed, silently letting Mala know she's overstepping (as much as a snake can step!)

The Rodent Adventure Group find themselves within the belly of a crocadillian Kapro, all squished up together with juices around as it lays on it's back in sheer reptillina bliss. The nestfoxes have shown what happens to those they defeat: They use them as a new home! the Nestfoxes are diving up each group members snatch, all with different reactions from the insistant pleasure-giving attentions of the tiny, slipptery and harmless foxes. Rooibos is utterly overhwelmed by the sensations, laying rump-up as they pile in to make a new home deep inside her. Darjeeling is in the middle of her defeat, still standing but legs weakening and covering her maw at the feeling of the nestfoxes clingbing up her legs in mass and swarming into her snatch. Peppermint is laying back as she sits, surrendered to their expert blissful attentions as they pop in and out from their new home between her legs, some of them happily taking a milk drink from her chest. Rooibos seems to be the msot at ease with the aituation, sitting back and resting her head against her fist as she happily watches the nestfoxes slip in her, seemibly use to such sensations down there!

Panel 1: Rooibos the springhare is walking with Bohea the grasshopper mouse and trying to make Bohea see sense. Rooibos: "Bohea, we can't buy anything on a Guild Walk, equipment or pets. All we can have is-" Bohea: "What we fine, aye! We ain't buying a pet to carry our gear. We're gonna be taming one!" Panel 2: First pet: Kapro. Darjeeling the Springhare is holding Peppermint the red squirrels tail as a massive crocadillian Kapro lays there with jaws spread open. It awaits the enthralled Peppermint to step into it's jaws for a soft swallow, while Darjeeling tries to stop her! Bohea: "Think of how good it'd be in a fight." Rooibos: "We'd run out of meat for it in a week, including ourselves!" Panel 3: Pet: Wolf Spider. Darjeeling lays blissfully wrapped up in a cacoon laying on a massive Wolf Spider web, the canid creature watching as Peppermint takes aim at it. Bohea: jsut think: Fresh, comfy, silk sleeping bags at every camp site!" Rooibos: "We'd only get to enjoy them once, Bohea..." Panel 4: Pet: Non-Newtonian Fossa. On this occasion Darjeeling and Peppermint watch on as Rooibos is being glooped all over by the semi-liquid fossa, oddly putting up little protest as it looks at her with devious intent. Bohea didn't even notice Rooibos lack of protest or complaint. Bohea: "Yeah, yeah, I know. This one's no good. Luggage'll fall right through it." Panel 5: Pet: Nestfoxes. The entire grou pis being asulted by tiny, slippery, harmless foxes that are trying to climb over them for worrying reasons! Even Bohea is having trouble beating these numbers of adorable critters back! Bohea: "Okay, okay, awful idea!"

Panel 1: The large snake emerges from the back room as the Rodent Adventure Group stand at the counter. On the wall behind the coutner is the Adventure Guild seal in large form, as if nobody already knew what this palce was for. Rooibos the Springhare states: "Ah, there you are Mala." Mala the snake responds: "So sorry, I thought the announcement was going to last a while yet." Panel 2: Rooibos, still put off from her recent experiences, does not even look at Mala as she goes straight for looking at some paper in her cloak. Rooibos: "I have a list for you." Meanwhile Darjeeling the springhare next to her is looking very alert at Mala, pointing at the side of her own mouth. Panel 3, 4, 5, 6: While Rooibos mutters "Now where... Did I.. Aha!" Mala looks at Darjeeling before realising the gesture was pointing out some incriminating mouse fluff on the side of her mouth! She very quickly wipes the fluff with the tip of her tail with a slightly panicked expression before anyone else might notice! Panel 7: Mala looks over the papers in her coil, as provided by Rooibos. Rooibos: "I've marked some basic adventure items and travel rations for the journey." Panel 8: Roibos continues while still oblivious, while Darjeeling looks to the side with a silent sigh of relief at Mala's mouse deeds being hidden still. Rooibos: I've also marked a need for some simple wooden weapons for the smithy, and two cloaks, as Darjeeling and Peppermint have their own."

Panel 1: Harry the Red Squirrel looks over to the side at the person he's talking to. Harry: "Oh aye, that's all just t'distract yer. Been wondering if you've been geting themthere nightmares again. you know the ones." Panel 2: the visage of that which lurks within George's mind, the nightmares mentioned. Darkness of the tunnels, seen through the lenses of a mark. Scrungers ready and armed in their own protection at the sides, with boxes and broken things strewn along such cold and old bonewood warrens. The sight of green embers burning faintly on the walls, eating away at them and the half seen fight of someone with luminecent blue eyes reaching out to him as he reaches out to them in turn, both surrounded by increading green glow, never to be seen again. Panel 3: George holds his head, a slight pain at the memory. "Yes..."

Panel 1: Chai the Fancy Mouse and Tea the Springhare talk to each other while they both hold their Bonewood china flasks of tea. Chai asks "I assume they've worked out their roles by now, or did they break with Adventure Group tradition by not having any?", to which a surprised Tea asks "Wait, you still don't know?" Panel 2: A somewhat dejected Chai looks sideways, her mosue ears tucked back as she explains. Most people are still squeaking the claim I sold out to The adventure Guild. Even Sophie has stopped talking about some of her private projects. I'm not even able to go to underground..." Panel 3: Tea inturrupts as she tries to give a balenced account of the situation to Chai. "Well, the Guild licences you to use our tools, and you have unlimited Shrine use. It does look rather fishy for an Avala Decendant." Panel 4: Chai looks up at Tea (and the viewer!) with tucked back ears and a pleading expression. "But it's not like that! You know I'm not tht sort of mouse..." Panel 5: Tea teases Chai to break this line of thinking with a cheeky grin. "Oh, I'm sure it's just related to you looking vunerable to every weak-willed carnivore in Burrow Valley more then once~" Chai looks startled, hr tail rising straight and a blush forming! Panel 6: Chai reacts with her own cutting remark, trying to hide her blush as she looks away. "At least I didn't join as an Adventure scout to watch it all from a nearby bush..." The rest of Bohea the Grasshopper mouse's day: Panel 1: Bohea finds Mr. Fluffles, which is a Megamaned wolf, a feral maned wolf a great many times her size! She points to the floot, to tell him to spit out Susie. Panel 2: instead, Mr. Fluffles pounces on Bohea, causing dust to fly up! Panel 3: Mr. Fluffles looks at his forepaws as the dust settles only to see.... No Bohea squished under them! Panel 4: And there is Bohea! Sneailly skittering up Mr. Fluffles back leg, as if some small heroine climing up a colossus, but with rodent skitter-speed! Panel 5: Mr Fluffles look up with an expression of shock.... with a deep blush Panel 6: Mr. Fluffles face blushes further, and the Megamaned wolf behings hanting with eyes half closed and an open smile on his face Panel 7: Back at the dventurers clerk office, Bohea cashes in on her quest, having successfully extracted Susie from Mr. Fluffles stomach and flopping her over Mala the snakes desk. Boheas reward is a bag of coin! Oddly, Bohea's face and shirt and rather wet... Panel 8: Bohea uses the money fromher quest to buy some extra supplies from the local potions shop, carring out a handbag worth of bottles. Panel 9: In her burrow home, on her comfy armchair, Bohea finishes her day reading a good book. As one might expect, there are posts on her burrow walls about Beasties and monsters, weaknesses and the like, and in the corner lays her backpack, always ready to go.

Panel 1: Harry the Red Squirrel says: "Aye, figured. Heard whisperings of sommit sinister up north. Usual quest bait for Adventurers, didn't care much 'til I heard a detail. Some lass mentionin' green, smouldering eyes, almost like burning. That and she mentioned various.. unutterable things there." Panel 2: Harry looks to the side "We got anyone up north?Anyone near the moors we can pull?" George frowns with dissatification: "No, nobody, and nobody I can spare Projecting to get there. It's one of the worst locations to get to right now, no Nests to replenish clay." Panel 3: Harry rubs his chin. "Mm, thought at much. No airship, or narrowboat routes either, so The company is out. We're down to hiring an Adventurer of all people. Might have an idea for one though." George chips in: "I don't like it." Panel 4: Pointing a finger to list his gripes, George continues: "it's probably nothing, and will draw attention to us. Can't be a Knight or Paladin, they're bad news for us and would get stuck in like fools if it's real. Hell knows what would happen if a Mage or Wizard..." Panel 5: Harry waves George off with apaw: "Ah, shut it. I know someone. Won't ask questions, and isn't an idiot. One of them fringe types. Somehow got ordinance despite being rocky with The Guild." Panel 6: George: Alright, just let him know he can't touch any loot or whatever he calls magic. We'll... You'll pay him not to. He'll be going in blind beyond that, can't risk anything getting out. Is he near?" Harry: Aye, aye. Not that near. We're talking a weeks walk, not months. but still closest git this side of Guildtown I'd trust with it, depressingly." George: "Best we can do so close to Burrow Valley? The absolute State of us." Harry: "Can't be helped, my lot are tied up with The company. you're lot tied up laying low and not dying." in the background looms Peppermint the squirrel. Panel 7: Peppermitn strikes! Grabbing Harry form behind in a hug! Harry: "Slow build avoiding th-FOOKIN'ELL!"

Panel 1: The Marten lays out a plan using her experience. Marten: Alright, the absolute last thing we want is one escaping to call every Bandit Squirrel in the area over. As the most experiences fluff, and who knows how these things usually go down, I say this is what we'll do." Panel 2: One of the Bandit squirrels sits with a stick, poking something, with Bohea the grasshopper mouse depicted ready with her paws. "Mousie, you sound like you need to blow off some stream at the one by that plant thing. Kick the fucker's tail." Panel 2: The next depiction is a Bandit Squirrel looking through the rubbish-loot, goggles on her head, while peppermint the red squirrel is posed heroically with her hand crossbow. Marten: "Mousie will need the one in the loot off her back to win. Red, you try to take her on to make it a fair fight." Panel 3: And here we have a depection of Darjeeling the springhare posed in an intimidating way with her quarterstaff, while another Bandit Squirrel looks about with a mean face. Marten: "As for you, toothpick holder, you can probably deal with the one by the fire with that stick quick enough. That'll make you our edge after." Panel 4: And finally we have the last two Bandit Squirrels in the camp, alongside Rooibos the robed springhare holding up a poteion and looking very, very unimpressed. Marten: "you and I, Robe, we'll fight the th-" Rooibos: "I'm the group's pacifist healer. I don't fight, I support." Marten: "You fuc- Pacifist Healer. Right, fine. To hell with it, Toothpick, you handle the last two at the camp, I'll go after the fire one quickly. Should stop them running to get help from Bandits in the area until I can help you out. Panel 2: Mala the snake holds up the tip of her tail like a finger. "One last thing! I was going to place a quest." Panel 3, 4, 5: Mala moves over to Bohea the grasshopper mouse, the cloth-wrapped snake far larger then the rodent. Mala: "Old josh saw Mr. Fluffles digging Susie's carrots again. Susie was out, but I'm certain Mr. Fluffles is baiting her to tell him off again. Can you...?" Bohea replies with amusement and a slight roll of the eyes "Yeah, yeah, I'll check he's not switching from pests to people." Mala: No Adventurers or paperwork then, thank you!" Panel 6: The Rodent Aventure Group all go to leave together, Darjeeling the springhare waving back at Mala as they walk on, Bohea and Rooibos looking ahead while Pepperming rubbing her wrist and arm that Mala has coiled up earlier. Panel 1: The Rodent Adventure Group hide behind a bush. Rooibos the springhare tries to plan. Rooibos: We need to plan this carefully. There are more of them then us. Bohea the Grasshopper mouse: "Aye, aye. they got lots of loot too, so might be decent fighters. Need ta make a few poof back to feral before th'rest can react." in the background a Pine Marten head pops over a bush, watching the rodents watching the Bandit squirrels! Panel 2: Rooibos: Squirrel Bandits react fast Bo, we won't have the surprise." Bohea: "'S long as t'vermin meet their end.". meanwhile the marten has approaches, and turns out to be unusually large. Putting her large paw on Peppermint the red squirrels shoulder and put a pawfinger to her own muzzle to keep the very, very shocked Peppermint quiet. Panel 3: The marten makes her move! Putting her head between Rooibos and Bohea, she adds her own thoughts to Bohea's comment. Marten: "Oh, I agree~" Panel 4: The rodents react! Granted, it's too late, granted, but the Maten baks up, paws up in peaveful intent while the small group takes a defensive stance, Darjeeling the springhare's swarterstaff raised! Clearly this marten very large for her species! Marten: "Easy Girls, I'm not here to fight you." Bohea: "tha' right, Marten? Who be?" Panel 5: ~The marten gestures behind her back to the woods. Marten: "It's true, I'm a guard for a trade wagon up the road, Dogood Distrbutions. Been checking ahead as Bandit Squirrels been taking more then usual. Been trying to work out how to deal with this many by myself for a few hours until I saw you four." Panel 6: Rooibos isn't buying it yet. Rooibos: "A marten that dresses as rought as this as a guard? Panel 1: Outside the Adventure Clerk Office in Burrow Valley, within the continent of Thistleland, stand a Coyote, two Springhares, a Red Squirrel and a Grasshopper Mouse. The Coyote continues a long speech to those watching with "... While only a few hundred years since your ancestors arrived in Thistleland from their homeland of Avala...". Meanwhile a Springhare in the distance, our foreground, watches on. Panel 2: As the Coyote talks on, the Springhare watching is inturrupted by someone smaller then they who is too short to be in the panel. The smaller one asks "Drop of Tea?" to which the Springhare happily says "Oh, thank you, Chai!" Meanwhile the Coyote continues with ".. And though many have argued against integration, The Adventure Guild, in their wisdom..." Panel 3: The smaller person, Chai, who turns out to be a fancy mouse, and Tea the observing Springhare, watch on as they discuss. Chai says "I didn't expect you to actually come and watch this balderdash", to whih Tea replies as she drinks the small flask of tea with "Oh, I wanted to give Rooibos and the gang some moral support. Plus, Scrying Mages may be watching." Panel 4: Chai and Tea continue to talk while Tea continues to drink. Chai points at the group infront of the Guild Branch Office asking "I doubt the Mages would bother. Say, didn't Rooibos want you banned from her attainment Speech?" The rest of Roibos the Springhares day: Panel 1: Rooibos walks back to her home, and notices a small wrapped parcel on the floor outside. Panel 2: Upon opening the atatched letter, Rooibos reads. It says: "Rooibos, We don't like each other but I realise what you're doing is too important for all of us. The Adventurers Starting Quest is a sham and optional. Don't do it. I left you money to pay for some rooms instead. I've left to Adventure Scout a Sealed Temple. I am willing to put aside our quarrel. You win. -Tea." Panel 3: While Rooibos would like the idea of an extra victory, the idea of someone conceding to her and offering her money evidently leaves a sour look upon her face. he takes the parcel. Panel 4: Darjeeling spends some time with her sister Rooibos and stands at ease while rolling her eyes as Rooibos complains about this and that as Rooibos collexts some clothing after stripping down to her underware to change. Panel 5: Rooibos packs her rather outlandishly large trunge with clothing for the journey, still in her underware, lifing her tail to bend over to check something in the trunk. Panel 6: Now dispencing with the remainder of her garments, Rooibos walks off with some bottles in her arms, looking forward to something Panel 7: And we see what that thing is, a bubblebath! None of that Adventure Guild an' Silver Coin currency gett'n to you head yet?" Bohea: "Yer havin' a laugh! Gon' be hard enough working out what's worth what. Now, you stay clear of Mr. Fluffles while I'm away Susie. He won't eat your carrots, just YOU!" Among them is enough luggage to move homes with, piled up high in giant trunks. Peppermint is crouched with her backpack looking to Bohea with a knowing worried look. Darjeeling with her backpack is looking on towards Bohea with her arms shrugging. Rooibos stands there happy as can be, one arm on her luggage pile. Panel 7: Bohea and Darjeeling hold their heads in their paws. Bohea: "THE FUCK IS THIS?"

Panel 1: Chai the fancy mouse asks "Speaking of Rooibos, putting diferences aside why are you spending time at your old antagonist's achievement?" Panel 2: Tea the springhare replies while holding a small bonewood china box: "A bit of closure... And checking Rooibos isn't going straight home afterwards." Panel 3: Rooibos the springhare looks proud as she stands while the speech continues in the background "...this unique chance for your people to show their true worth..." Panel 4: Rooibos looks to the side,, casually lancing around. the speech continues: "..with these four proving themselves to solely represent all of Avala decendands.." Panel 5: Rooibos spots something in the distance, her ears moving back slightly, conposure faltering a moment. The speech winds to a close: "..and they alone will determine exactly your place in this land, forever." Panel 6: What Rooibos sees is far off in the distance, behind the crowds... Chai and Tea, looking happy. Panel 7: The simmering rage f a springhare is somethign quite to behind. All of the terrible things that are inside Rooibos mind can be hard to describe and were the sweet reader to come to an understanding of the ire that this rpinghare has for those two she just spied, then this comic page may need to be cencored. in any such case, Rooibos does not look especially happy to see Tea.

Well, 'cept bringing Mala more Life Tokens, heaven knows what fer. Probably them Humminghawk Moths of hers. Expensive waste really." Panel 3, 4: Peppermint: "By the way, George, how are-" "George: "Bonewood China's just finished firing. They'll be cool and I'll test them myself by the morning for you. Panel 1: We see a middle aged Springhare sit down next to Harry the Red Squirrel. The old squirrel is holding a small orb alongside his walking stick, that is a deep black in colour. the springhare says: "Same old Harry, eh? I thought you retired, isn't that meant to mellow you older folk?" Harry: "Haven' punched thee, George, so mellow enough." Harry looks at the lifeless orb. "Makes aren't watching. We're free to talk." George mutters "...Really need to get one of those things.." Panel 2: Harry tucks away the orb into a coat pocket as George speaks "So, got any news?" Harry retorts: "T'were bloodey quick off the mark t'ask. Starved for knowledge, eh? Yer, I got news, but first a question. Thee like having m'family blood on yer paws?" Panel 3: George holds up his paws in a gesture of innocence: "What? No, no it's not like that, I've no part in this at all. This is all her decision. I was going to ask her to work in my pottery, girl's got a gift with Bonewood. Even been considering her a potential for making Splode." Harry retorts with "Damned right she does, but now she's got a a Scrunger name, is part of The Guild and has my blood linking her to the East Avala Company. Scrunger, Guild, and The Company. That's a messy mix, dangerous even. Could expose me. Could expose you." Panel 4: George: "The name is just part of our fallen culture now, it'll be fine." Harry: She still has access to the tunnels. You cut Chai off from those when she cut a deal with The Guild." George: "that was dfferent; Peppermint's not working for her own interests." Harry: "She wouldn't have made it this far by herself. Either you're supporting her or The Guild is luring her in to get to us." George: Neither. She befriended Bohea, that group got quite close knit." Harry: "Bohea, that's... er... the field mosue one, ye?" Panel 5: George: "She's a grasshopper mouse." Harry: "Eh, same species, er' closeenough." George: "They're really, really not. that's been a few more then one question, Harry."
