Accidentally came across a sample that's got a Windows Sandbox check, TIL WSB turns off the PasswordExpires flag on RunOnce and other WSB named devices exist to facilitate the operation of the sandbox.

The script is similar to Gamaredon VBScripts we analyzed before. It removes all registry values under well-known Run/RunOnce keys + several legitimate keys commonly abused by Gamaredon. It also deletes all scheduled tasks and terminates PowerShell, VBScript, and Mshta processes. 2/4

I'd suggest a combo of policies that prevent office apps and edge from running side procs or creating objects, via intune & Defender settings. bit more work but more effective than targeting a registry. You can still target that reg but then what about runonce? Or faststart? Turns into wackamole

I just learned from @cr00ster that a * in a RunOnce key means that it should start in safe mode. From MS: "The value name of RunOnce keys can be prefixed with an asterisk (*) to force the program to run even in Safe mode."...

My sensors went bonkers because of a bunch of very suspicious activity happening in /CurrentVersion/RunOnce, which is a way hide malware activity (T1565.001 and T1112). I found the culprit... OneDrive. There goes a nice peaceful Saturday morning. @GossiTheDog is this normal?
