A blue heron faces left and perched on its left leg atop the nearest of two square aluminum dock gangway rails as it drip-dries following a morning breakfast run. Like a feathered squiggle of a question mark, the bird seems headless as its neck curls tightly away and down its far (right) side. Only the beak is visible in the background as it preens around its right wing. The background is a mown green grass over most of the view, about 80 percent bottom to top. The verticle ribbed joints in the gray and tan exterior siding of a building fill the top 20 percent of the background. An unidentified vine covers the shoreline and grass beneath the gangway. ###

Real Thunder Clears The Road
The cooler temps are welcomed in rural Indiana, but the morning start was all stop for lightning strikes and an additional rain delay. Putnam Park Road Course, Greencastle, IN, USA. A line of four Porsche sports cars are parked side by side in the rain. A mix of more than 100 other high performance cars fill the background of the paddock at Putnam Park. The second car from the right has been covered with a tarp labeled with a radioactive hazard sign. The car at the right is covered with small puddles of rain. ###

Then and now, serenity embraces the bones of the Snow Queen's Ice Palace... less her weapons unleashed at each crack and rush of shards from its once crystal battlement.
Springtime at the gates of the Snow Queen's Ice Palace is peaceful and serene both then and now less all manner of weapons unleashed with a crack and loud rush of falls from its crystal battlement. The aftermath of a new normal winter season is a scene of a wood fire offset left of bottom-center. In the foreground, an axe blade is buried in an unseen log at bottom right. The wooden axe handle strikes slight curve upward across three-fourths of the horizon at approx. 30 degrees from lower right towards left center. The end of the handle sits skightly above center horizon. A pyramid of charred firewood sits framed just beyond the axe handle. The handles end points to a triangular pair of wood chunks. They are charred black and frosted at the edges with ash. Small orange flames peek from the top point of the triangle. The background finds large cut logs of Silver Maple and Osage Orange strewn at the base of a rusted wire fence with rotting 4x4 inch posts barely standing. Green grass and new leaves on honeysuckle, privet, and other regional flora fill the gaps. ###
