#Rustbuckets
i really want them to lean more into the busted shit area 88 aesthetic tho, have it feel like these rustbuckets are barely flying, and we're counting the cost of every sidewinder i can't maintain suspension of disbelief when the flight deck crew are all wearing immaculate coloured jumpsuits

Also- the Yellow Car Rule is more complex than just yellow cars being stupid. Thankyou- I really enjoyed thinking about this.

As a (UK) teen, my mates' rustbuckets were all yellow- we even called them Team Yellow- simply because they were cheaper to buy and rebuild...

Stop buying these multi-billion dollar rustbuckets if you won’t take care of them

There’s not enough RustOleum in all the warehouses everywhere to take care of the pitiful Navy’s rustbuckets!

the United Nations announced that the world has overshot the 1.5 C warming target. dang ... if only they focused on that instead of constantly putting interns in flying rustbuckets and throwing them at the regime 😞

It's hot, humid as FUCK, I'm covered in grime from the rustbuckets in the shop right now, and everything hurts

But I'm listening stage flight and Furality sets so really, good day I can't complain

Forward-opening bonnet is always a neat idea. Means it can't pop open at speed if the latch doesn't click shut properly.

These were everywhere, then not many survived the years when they were considered cheap disposable rustbuckets to be dumped at the first MOT failure.

In addition to Russia's vast globe-trotting shadow fleet of HAZARDOUS RUSTBUCKETS smuggling oil, there's a sister fleet of LNG carriers forming, @financialtimes.com reports.

These ones leak less, but burn and explode more easily.

@christineburns That’s exactly what they’re doing. The wells are clapped out but un-abandoned, the platforms are rustbuckets, the pipelines are at their end of life.

And Labour will let then run off with all the profit and none of the liabilities.
Simply forcing them to fully abandon and remove […]

watched great movie on Amazon - "Sink the Bismark" with Kenneth More. About half a dozen British warships chased and sunk the pride of Germany.
Could that be done today with a foreign enemy? Not a chance with a few rustbuckets and leaky old subs. UKGov has deliberately neglected armed forces.

Oh yeah, got the whole range of weird and wild and wonderful. Ranging from Saxon rustbuckets who look like they've just escaped the sandcrawler, to Ivanhoe and Richard's gaudy showstoppers, to Guilbert, de Bracy and Front de Boeuf's dystopian Formula One looks.

Watching a movie with androids in 2019: If they are sentient, are they not entitled to the same compassion as any other being?

Watching a movie with androids in 2026: These rustbuckets have cameras that report straight to Elon Musk and they pretend to feel pain when you stomp them out

And after a brief physical altercation (which as a proprietor of a family friendly entertainment establishment, i of course will not show) it seems they… worked out the kinks.

which is great news! because i wouldn’t have been able to afford to repair these rustbuckets, let alone buy a replacement

Indeed! Take the rustbuckets, store the oil, make the country flagging the ship pay for having it returned.

Having taken decisive action and charged the Indian captain of the Shadow Tanker is seized at the weekend, the UK has followed up with a string of further sanctions on Russia's illegal and dodgy fleet of rustbuckets.

Those waters get rather more lively weather too. Look up what happened to the Spanish Armada in 1588 and consider the mechanical condition of these rustbuckets.

Russia is challenging new IMO reporting rules that would require ships to provide proof of insurance, calling the measures politically motivated and unlawful

What a masterclass you have delivered @davidshoebridge.bsky.social 💚👨🏼‍⚖️⚖️ with you roasting their feet to the fire to reveal those costs for those rustbuckets of submarines we are getting!

#AUKUSWillFukUs
AUKUS is such a rotten deal, that even buying second hand submarines still means the Australian public is paying top dollar.
June 4, 2026 at 3:05 AM
Not all that long ago, the RAN bought a pair (HMAS Manoora and Kanimbla) of second-hand amphibious transport ships off the USN and, during refit, discovered that they were rustbuckets ('extensive corrosion'🤣). I hope the RAN gets these subs thoroughly inspected *before* we take delivery this time...

WTAF Australia?! We’re dropping tens of billions for second hand, already-in-service Virginia class scrap that the Yanks are done with?

Congrats, #AUKUSWillFukUs has truly fcked us paying premium prices for hand me down rustbuckets while we get zero new builds and zero sovereignty.

Seems that #Iran has adopted #Putin's play book...🧐😬
What happens when one of these rustbuckets sink and leave a unnatural disaster behind...😬

The small renault vans i know off were rustbuckets (on specific rust prone spots) in about 5 years of intense use.

Not sure what would be good / reliable investment wise. Maybe the toyota van or volkswagen / mercedes?
