#Rutelinae
This mysterious beetle showed up at our light trap in the Brazilian Amazon near Manaus. It's a beautiful representative of the shining leaf chafers, the Rutelinae, a group of scarab beetles that are often found feeding on leaves and flower petals. Many species are round and have metallic colors.

You know what, whatever, #ScarabOfTheDay 🪲
For the first Scarab of the Day, let me present you Pelidnota sordida !
Family: Scarabaeidae
Subfam: Rutelinae
Found in Brazil during a field mission, with a light trap. The thing that gives "Rutelinae" is that green sheen.
Males have enlarged front tarsi.

In other news, my first Pelidnota punctata emerged! It’s a common Rutelinae from North America that primarily feeds on grape leaves, sometimes seen on Virginia creeper.
Completely unrelated note, I’m now searching for grapevines/spinach/Virginia creeper that would grow in Paris :’)
