I stayed until I no longer could—until the newspaper’s owner, Jeff Bezos, issued an edict that the Post’s opinion offerings would henceforth concentrate on the twin pillars of “personal liberties and free markets,”

Thanks #RuthMarcus! The fact that you've fled the now toxic @washingtonpost.com helped me to make the break...

I am appalled, disgusted and upset that the brilliant @RuthMarcus of the devolving @washingtonpost was prompted to resign because her thoughtful piece was killed by the editor ( and owner’s “bended knee”).😡
Very “Europe 1930’s” of them!

Media orgs run by agenda-based billionaires that kill fact-checked opinion columns #RuthMarcus helps put We, the People on the slippery slope of downhill democracy.
#JeffBezos can take it on the chin & fire his editor or just continue the slow death of the wonderful #WashPost.

Re-activated my subscription to #WashingtonPost so I could leave a comment for #JeffBezos telling him how I felt about #RuthMarcus leaving for being editorially gagged.

And then I immediately canceled the subscription again.

I got your "two pillars" right here, Jeff.

I don’t know about all of you, but I’d love to see Amazon stocks fall significantly like Tesla’s. I sold my crumbs today. I don’t want any more of a part of Bezos’s wealth while he squelches freedom of the press. Since I don’t have a wapo subscription, this is something I’m able to do. 🤷🏼‍♀️ #RuthMarcus
