RxSwift mimicked RxJava as closely as possible, but 10+ years of lead time allowed the Java implementation to have a ton more features. I think there were also several instances where RxSwift was not accurate to the Reactive Programming expectations which had to be adjusted.

I still believe that Reactive Extensions (as in: #rxswift) were a great idea, and that Combine is an amazing 1st party framework, and that async/await is not cutting it

Apple usually launches something. Have the community create 3rd party solutions. All Apple will have to do is sherlock the best one.

I’ve known a few of these guys. One was really bad. He once gave a talk to the team that we should never use DispatchQueue. Then said we should use RxSwift.
It runs sequences which are scheduled on DispatchQueues. He also put everything on main with blocking code all the time.

RxSwift can be really useful, and I'm not tearing it out of any existing project just for the sake of it.

Você tem que escolher suas batalhas. 🤷🏿♂️ Por exemplo eu costumo acoplar a Lib de gestão de estado e está tudo bem. Qdo eu trabalhava com iOS e decidia usar RxSwift, eu não criava abstração. Agora migrar regra de negócio de uma linguagem pra outra é mais fácil que migrar regras que estão no banco.
