Large-Scale Crash Simulation at Helsinki Airport Tests Emergency Response and Cooperation
AviationNews – Finavia, the operator of Helsinki Airport, successfully conducted a massive, full-scale emergency response drill named SAR2026 today to test international rescue readiness and multi-agency cooperation following a simulated major aircraft accident. The extensive drill, mandated by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), simulated the catastrophic crash of a large commercial passenger aircraft within the airport perimeter.
