SCX10's transfer case grease sits exposed near the input shaft, and sand works into it differently than mud. Mud wipes off. Sand stays in and turns it gritty, grinding the mesh slowly. Sandy sessions lately? That's worth its own wipe and regrease. #SCX10 #AxialRC

SCX10 dogbones are fixed length for stock ride height. Lift the suspension without longer dogbones and they'll pop out of the diff at full droop, usually mid obstacle. Raised your ride height? Check droop travel before blaming the diff. #SCX10 #AxialRC

Put machined aluminum shock caps on the SCX10 instead of the plastic stockers. Ride felt the same day one. What changed is no more oil film around the shock body after a hard session, since the plastic caps were weeping first. Boring but it works. #SCX10 #RCUpgrades

Its been a lot of fun upgrading this little Capra. Best part has been upgrading 2 of them together. My wife has the orange/black version too. I'm going the competition-grade route with mine and Wife is doing scale. She even bought a trailer for her SCX10 so she can tow the Capra around lol.

SCX10 shock towers have multiple top mounting holes, and the factory one is laid back, giving the softest effective rate. Squatting and dragging its belly? Move the mount more upright before buying stiffer springs. #SCX10 #AxialRC

I would recommend a 1/10 crawler chassis. Not as fast but can go anywhere even with the added weight (I've seen one pull a shopping with an adult man in it), really good control so it can aim better, and lots of options to increase stability. The SCX10 is pretty versatile and you can avoid Traxxas.

One of my latest "builds" is this Jeep CJ7. It's a modified RTR by Axial. It's the SCX10-III straight axle. I replaced the wheels, tires, servo, micro-servo for DIG feature, motor, receiver, transmitter, shocks, I added a winch, roof lights, pod lights, driver, accessories, brass knuckles etc.

Interior in, and wheels/tires are on.
Just waiting on some side marker and roof lights and then maybe I'll throw a driver in there and some accessories in the roof basket 😁
A workbench with the body of a blue RGT Rock Cruiser V3 "Bronco" body next to a $6 AliExpress ($15 on Amazon) 1/10 scale interior "kit" for an Axial SCX10. It fits, so it ships. I just had to cut an inch or so out of the cargo area. There is a sheet of stickers to detail the dash and door panels. The seats look yellow, but its just the protective plastic covering the lexan. Sticker on, interior installed in the Bronco. View through the slightly tinted side window shows the steering wheel and dash detail, with its white faced gauges. Rear view into the interior from the side window looking at the seats. Sitting on the carpet floor, the Bronco in front of the workbench with its new white wagon wheels installed and "BE Goodrich" white letter tires. Very period correct. The white letters and wheels match the white roof of the truck.
