Part of why I feel like stacked flats hold so much promise here, contrary to all the other developers slavish devotion to townhouses and milk carton shaped SFRs. We have operable windows in almost every space including kitchen and bathroom.

My municipality requires sprinklers in all new build and significant renovation, even in SFRs
US multifamily housing is 6 times safer than single family homes - and safer even than older multifamily buildings

Seeing the SFRS firefighter on this platform at Glasgow Central tonight, reminds me of how dangerous their job is.
Next time they’re out on the streets fighting for decent pay, conditions and appropriate staffing, we’d all do well to remember what they’re expected to do and back them 100%.
