It is hard to overstate how mad everyone in UT is about this data center. Literally no one wants it. Environmentalists, farmers, rural folks, SLCounty... no one. The MAGA conspiracy theory lady in my local FB group hates it. People are calling on Gov Cox to resign.

Another Howell farmer and rancher, Arthur Douglas, added his frustrations about how very few people knew about the project until it was brought before the Box Elder County Commission for a vote. "I think they did wrong," Douglas said of the county seemingly getting short notice of the project. "They said they didn't have to because that ground ain't zoned out there. In SLCounty about 21% of land is privately owned farmland. As of 2024, 31,925 ag pecks, 17,300 frms, 10.5M acres. In UT, it’s common to see farmland next to neighborhoods. Near to our home, there’s a small farm where we make cow friends. 🐮 This is our newest buddy-young and spunky. Happy Friday! 🐄

My kid is only taking one class this semester & often works right after so I drive him up to the U and go work out for an hour at the SLCounty Rec Center. Some one in his class wears so much rosey flowery fragrance that he smells like it when he gets in the car, or he is up to something else.

I can't get over how gerrymandered Utah's Second Congressional District is. How does our current districting not overrepresent rural voters? Of course, the legislature just loves to punish SLCounty for being less Republican. Vote harder right @GovCox? 🙄🙄🙄

Trent Staggs must have a thing for losing given that he lost both his bid to be SLCounty mayor in 2020 and the Senate primary in 2024. He's stuck being the mayor of Riverton, one place in the valley that I would never consider living.

Project 2025 eliminates universal free meal programs because they are an "entitlement" and "abused" by families. But don't worry! @rachelle_morris hired a Heritage Foundation consultant to make sure she is speaking to the needs of SLCounty families. Let them eat gum.
