The Gorn in SNW are so bloodthirsty stupid that they'll fly their spaceships into rocks if you flash the right light codes at them (they communicate by space semaphore), and they love to eat people and infect them with their filthy alien blood that makes chestbursters pop out of them

Had to remind myself of the inherent gleeful silliness of Star Trek while watching that SNW episode where they travel back to prehistoric earth and accidentally commit genocide (forgot that it started of silly and ends tragically which is also keeping with the Trek tradition)

This how a branch of the space science community commits slow motion suicide. At a time when NASA science funding is an issue most science organizations increase media outreach. Except ASGSR.org which charges media over $1,450 to give their society, members & science free publicity.
