I love “The Tholian Web,” and its connection to Enterprise and Discovery, and the way the Uhura-Kirk relationship in SNW enhances the story.

And people think SNW isn’t Star Trek enough.
one of my favorite moments of TNG is when Picard is immediately unable to contain his horse autism

SNW season 4 bravely flipping the script by having 9 silly episodes. 1 serious episode, and zero good episodes.

This season of SNW feels like the worst not because it's egregious but because it's just middling in the worst way.

Hot take: SNW is the best because Spock is the Lady's Man. Sciences is where it's at.

The Gorn in SNW are so bloodthirsty stupid that they'll fly their spaceships into rocks if you flash the right light codes at them (they communicate by space semaphore), and they love to eat people and infect them with their filthy alien blood that makes chestbursters pop out of them

I really liked SNW until this year, which was a truly terrible season of television

Had to remind myself of the inherent gleeful silliness of Star Trek while watching that SNW episode where they travel back to prehistoric earth and accidentally commit genocide (forgot that it started of silly and ends tragically which is also keeping with the Trek tradition)

(Also, SNW has _really_ leaned into making Pike Space Dad, and I am 1000% here for that)

This how a branch of the space science community commits slow motion suicide. At a time when NASA science funding is an issue most science organizations increase media outreach. Except ASGSR.org which charges media over $1,450 to give their society, members & science free publicity.

TOS : Arena- fear, scary aliens ( Gorns), loss, pain transmuted to diplomacy, we can choose to be Good, wage peace.
SNW : kill them all, let Q sort them out.

After 4 years of SNW and Pike's Peak, going back to Disco S2 and a darker haired Captain is jarring.
@ansonmount.bsky.social knocked it out of the park from day one, though.
