But no, at Edinburgh it was Plainsong etc, I think 7 from Disintegration, in PFR! And again I got teary at the start of it when the chimes started! He must have known I was there! Although I would have liked the SOALW set, it was, as someone once said, just like heaven.

yeah we were at the hydro! they were great, but yeah tonight was better for me (although no soalw stuff, so a different sort of show). they seem to be going into a new phase of trying out further reaches of catalogue.

I know it's been shared widely and is very recent but I feel a deep connection with this record on so many levels! Too many to list on here. But Robert Smith's grief over his brother is so palpable it hits hard, plus his thoughts on his own mortality and other stuff. #soalw

Hahah yes, imagine a reasonable conversation over there?
I’m not yet sure it’s their best for me, only because I haven’t lived with it for as long as I’ve lived w/Disintegration. I am still moved by SOALW after repeat listening, which says it’s certainly in the conversation for the best of theirs.

After 32 years the Cure has another #1 album. I did my part (two different limited edition vinyl releases). There is still beauty in the world and SOALW is the right vibe for right now.

De Bernie Grundman cut van SOALW bevalt me wel. Verliest iets aan laag in vergelijking met de Miles Showell cut op de EU half speed, maar wint aan helderheid en definitie. De Mexicaanse persing had wel even een pre-draaibeurt schoonmaakbeurt nodig.

SOALW too early to call for me yet. Loved “Wish” on release but it dropped down my list over time. For me, Disintegration, Pornography, 17s, Faith, HotD in that order but I exclude “songs” for now. Do think it could be in top 3 in time…Alone, All I ever am, Endsong are already classics IMHO.

Lovely choice!
It's too early for me to really judge the songs on SOALW but after Endsong (which is a truly masterpiece) this is the one that stand out for me.
