First described to science in 1965, this endangered owl is very range restricted. Its estimated population is about 800 pairs. It measures just 6.5”. This photo is of a juvenile.

African Wood-Owl (Strix woodfordii). Arabuko-Sokoke National Park, Kenya.
The "wood" in this species scientific name is a coincidence, named after Colonel E.J.A. Woodford, a British soldier and naturalist during the Napoleonic Wars.

I've been blocked by over sensitive, brainwashed petals in denial, 2 x today.
But at least I have a lovely cat. He is a "sokoke" cat.
Only "self bred" type of cat.
A rescued feral kitten, now a love bunny, when it suits him.
He broke a leg already, and has used up some lives.
