#SPBFO
I've reviewed a fantastic book from the SPBFO XI competition on my blog. Two young outsiders, each with a mysterious heritage, get involved in court intrigues in an Indian-themed fantasy world and quickly find themselves out of their depth...

I am!
My first, Windborn, in SPBFO 7 and I had Trollgrave in SPFBOX - very grateful to have gotten to semi-finals with both but also grateful I can now safely cheer on all the finalists without any anxiety for my own books 😅

I do! SUPPLICANT is the sequel to my #SPBFO 9 semi-finalist entry and 2023 #IndieInkAward winning debut, PETITION. Early release via Kickstarter this year and late pledges are open to 31 December 2024.

If you like character-driven adult epic fantasy a la Robin Hobb, you’ll prob have a good time.
#SFFtalk: And here's an IG reel with the vibes for SUPPLICANT, which is an epic fantasy heist about backstabbing Houses uniting to steal a heavenly artifact that can supposedly turn any desire into reality.

Your first line just needs to make your reader curious, and this one by #SPBFO finalist @jdlrosell.bsky.social does just that. I want to know what a Hidden One is! 👀 #FirstLineFriday #Fantasy

I don't usually recommend starting with dialogue because it's tricky to get right, but this first line by #SPBFO finalist Wend Raven sets the scene, plus I feel annoyed along with the narrator. Writing "rules" can absolutely be broken. #Fantasy
