This isn’t correct apparently. So I’m guessing the hundreds of millions Renaker helped themselves to and the tens of millions Salboy took out of Warrington (along with £50m from GMCA three months ago) are illusions like City’s sponsorship money.
Burnham’s Manchester is built exclusively on investor friendly loans & his support of City’s investor-owners is entirely on brand. Football is an irrelevance to Burnham except for photo ops. The gravy train will roll on under Bev and investors never need risk any of their own money, City or no City.
I find the way the City/Burnham stuff affects Manchester deeply frustrating. Not because the city’s future relies on City - it doesn’t. Personally I don’t think Manchester is so reliant on a particular club ownership that it won’t prosper without it.
