Yeah, I hope you are wrong, and that SQLMesh makes it too, but it would be surprising, yes. But maybe possible with a slower phase now with the Linux Foundation

yep, that would be a reason to use SQLMesh, but all three, dbt core, dbt fusion, and SQLMesh are under Fivetran now, so which one do you pick?

I guess the Q is whether fusion or Mesh will have better adoption rates (Rust for speed do be a big gain here) / faster addition of new features people want (SQLMesh?)

I agree with everything here. And when you say:

That's exactly dbt fusion (SDF), and SQLMesh is interesting to people (not dbt), because they have exactly these features. Not dbt core.

SQLMesh joined the Linux Foundation (www.ssp.sh/brain/sqlmes...). I hope that helps, but not sure how it's going to work if both are still under Fivetran.

Ah yeah that‘s what I was thinking off.
Though with a wild mish mash of liscencing. SQLMesh is still under Apache 2.0 (at least on their Github, with a glance check).

The market for these SQL analysis/transpiler engines has been kind of weird over the last year. Wasn’t there also a bunch of noise about mergers between dbt and SQLMesh or some other product named something like that?
