I am curious what they're doing on the technical level though. The normal .aup3 save format is based on sqlite. Are they doing something cool like litestream or sqlite3_rsync?

After 4 years of work, I'm incredibly excited to introduce LiveStore, the next-gen data layer I'm building for Overtone.

It's based on reactive SQLite and has a built-in sync engine. Give it a try - would love your feedback!

I've been hoping for years that someone would build an event sourcing engine for local-first apps, and now @schickling.dev has done it! Hooray! livestore.dev

Reading about Corrosion: a Rust project that replicates a SQLite database using a gossip protocol. Really cool intersection of SQLite, CRDTs and SWIM. I also appreciate how openly they document their gnarlier failure modes and war stories so far fly.io/blog/corrosi...

lol!

Your post is actually stored (canonically) in your own individual SQLite database as of this week!

We're in the process of moving our v1 Postgres-based backend to our v2 ScyllaDB-based backend.

🥳 Launch Party day 4: Introducing LiveStore - a local-first data layer built on SQLite for high performance apps.

The creator of LiveStore is @schickling.dev (former @prisma.io) and he's opening up early access to LiveStore today! Check out his blog post for the details: expo.dev/blog/local-f...

We like sqlite as much as the next person but it would be great if the "official" PDS would've used a network-based db such that we could make a mega overkill k8s self-contained ATmosphere ^^

rskypds solves this, among others, our interest is piqued

Okay so to allow my Roaring Bitmap-based graph DB to grow larger than available RAM, I've created a library that lets you store collections of bitmaps and manages UID<->String ID mappings for you.

It's backed by local sharded SQLite DBs and lazily loads bitmaps on-demand into an ARC cache.
