My work definitely tends to blend genres, even including those traditionally "outside"SFF, but there's always at least a dash of weirdness to what I write. I love to read everything though!
Hi, I'm Michael. I'm working on a series of sword and sorcery short stories (hah, how's that for alliteration?)
They're a bit more difficult for me to write because they're my way of dealing with my PTSD.
Don't forget to quote-post, include the hashtag so others (and me!) can find you, and use alt text for any images so that everyone can particpate. (:
As for me, I'm an author of fantasy and horror, & an academic expert on monsters!

I'm Dante, I'm also a trans man, an author, and I used to be a streamer.
I'm at the end of the second draft of the first book of my WIP Trilogy which I'll just call WO. I'm not currently reading anything, but I have been playing Diablo 4/ Dragon Age: The Veilguard between my writing.
I'm Steve, a trans man, academic, and author!
Kind of just hanging on atm, but really enjoying my current read, Even If We're Broken by A. M. Weald (contemporary romance, which is not SFF and not my usual genre, but is very very good and I recommend it).

I love shape changers, especially wolf shape changers. So hard to pick a favorite though.
Interpret as you like (vulcans are as valid as unicorns or werewolves)!
This question's evil, & I apologize. 🤣
I'm going to go a bit weird and say the Tailypo (an Appalachian monster) from a horror book I loved as a kid!

I also hope that Romantasy doesn't over take the whole fantasy genre. I'm all for a good romantasy, but I would love to keep my plot driven stories around too

For me, I honestly just want it to continue to be bold & experimental (by which I don't mean everything has to be surreal, but that people keep trying new things, or new combinations of old things). I'd love to see it continue to diversify

Could be as a reader/audience member and/or as an author! (:
For me, the status of the outsider and the state of being outside, or of being caught in between different identities, always seem to come up.

My next WIP after Secrets, is about sirens. But they aren't your normal classic sirens. Mwahahah! Super excited for that 😁

A way to escape this reality and go into another

For me it's always been the possibility of it. It's a genre that very much says "yes, and" when at its best, eschewing easy categorization. It's really very expansive.
