I'm a prof. disabled by long Covid. I had to take a semester of medical leave, fight to have it covered by private company my U. has outsourced the STDis we pay for to, and return with many accommodations. If we don't require masks, or weekly testing at min., we should all expect sim. for 1 in 10.

De verdad que quería que me gustase. Georgiu era de lo poquísimo que me parece rescatable de STDIS, que dejé ya por imposible. Y que parezca un piloto de serie largo es lo mejor que se puede decir de esta cosa

-Color Is Back! Far from the depression of STDis but not quite to the recreated neon of SNW. It's far more natural and fitting to a school setting.
-The Jem'Hadar/Klingon First Officer, Thok, absolutely lives up to anything you could imagine as a mix of those races. Top notch character.

Voyager is my favorite, DS9 and TNG too. The 90s really set the bar. Havent seen SNW but I've watched a few scattered episodes of Lower Decks. I didn't enjoy those, it's like Family Guy in space. I love Prodigy, great Trek intro for kids. Agree on Enterprise. The Mushroom Drive killed STDis for me.

There are! I have the privilege and security of tenure, no more ticking tenure or time to degree clock, AND, critically, at least decent health insurance and STDis through work. As a poorly insured grad student with no regular doctor? Horror. Your student may need a leave to rest and heal.

I watched the first episode of the newest Star Trek instalment: #StarFleetAcademy. The TLDR rundown? It's a decent start. Not without faults but I see more potential with these characters & plot in this first episode than STDis had in its entire first season.

The same could be said about both the final season and the entire show itself. It was unarguably flawed, and to call it's start 'a bit wobbly' would be quite an understatement, but once it found it's footing and it's characters, it found it's heart.
