"In the hidden valley of Insulin, below the slopes of Trazodone, by the waters of Sertraline, the brothers Suboxone and Sublocade, sons of Methadone the old, found rest and comfort in the counsels of wise Baclofen, the song of fair Tylenol, and the sweet cordial Ativan."

so for BC journo's anyone telling you that long acting buprenorphine, aka sublocade, is a vaccine for OD's is being incredibly misleading in a very dangerous way

it is true that in the first week a patients tolerance from sublocade is quite high, but that's not true in weeks 2 & 3 #bcpoli
oh fuck, i wasn't 100% sure so i didn't want to say it, but that's not even what they're talking about... they're talking about using sublocade (which holy shit is not a vaccine for overdoses)

Long-acting buprenorphine injections (brand name Sublocade) are not “like a vaccine for overdose.”

Last week, BC NDP Premier Eby made misleading claims about Sublocade.

A decade into BC's toxic drug emergency, there is a heightened risk when government leaders promote this type of disinformation. It should not be acceptable.

Also my flabbers are ghasted... This is the most "normal" I've felt in a long time. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think the Sublocade might be a fricken miracle...

Corporatism over lives.

"Of these options, Sublocade is the only medication with an exclusive patent still held by a pharmaceutical company. That company is Indivior, which has lobbied Correctional Service Canada on “the application of addiction treatments within federal prisons” in recent years."

I can't recommend Sublocade enough for anyone struggling to taper off of Suboxone. I have so much more energy, zero cravings, no withdrawals. I just feel normal. Miracle drug.

I FINALLY GOT THE SUBLOCADE SHOT TODAY. Hallelujah I don’t have to take a pill every day so that I don’t go into withdrawals! This is a huge step for me in recovery bc in just 3-6 months I’ll be able to be off suboxone completely!

Story updated with more context, including studies showing terrible retention of Sublocade patients.

H/t @kwardvancouver.bsky.social for reminding me Keith Humphries is on the Indivior board, which continues to seem impossibly blatant.
