There are absolutely people ripping around on Surron bikes and the like but those are not representative of e-bike usage, especially among utility cyclists.

This made me smile. In Latin American Spanish “surrar” means “to shit oneself”, so “surron” could be translated as “big shitter”. Which probably describes the nuisance riders quite well.

Sadly, this article shows the pitiful limits of BBC News investigative journalism. The 161 ”e-bike” figure states nothing about how many categorised under “e-bikes” are correctly classified (EAPC). We all know why.
