Am I glad SWFA retracted? Sure, but they never should have thought this was a good idea in the first place.

I've been informed that SWFA is saying that they have to run a statement in support of Palestinian lives by legal counsel. No promises that this will happen, or is the plan, mind you. How many more dead Palestinians will it take? How many writers silenced forever?

SF/F writers be on the lookout: a known bad actor appears to be trying to piggyback off the Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki stuff – if you get followed by an anonymous account that claims to be doing some sort of citizen journalism about him or SWFA, block and move on

10. Finally, there should be respect. A publisher should respect the writer’s intelligence, agency, and passion. No game creator does this only for the money. They’re working for less than SWFA recommended rates out of love for gaming. Treat writers with empathy, tolerance, and professionalism.

I acknowledge that swfa might have fired off some slightly imprecise language, and yes, we (as a community) should probably hone that more specifically.
