The Oregon Supreme Court decision in 2014 weakened the power of liability waivers, increasing the legal risk for ski resorts and their insurers. Safehold has called Oregon an “extreme outlier” in how it handles negligence claims against ski resorts.

134. Frankly, all of the Safehold books kind of blur together for me. Probably one of Weber's most self-indulgent series, but I'm a sucker for endless digressions about rifle development and ship design. I do feel like the ending has (thus far?) been kind of a cop-out though.

Caveat: in the safehold series I guess it's cannonballs or rifled bullets instead of space missiles, but the same idea. He loves the big bad to some along what they think is the hopeless little victim before the victim turns it around and dominates the bad guy overwhelmingly.

I have two problems with Safehold: the hypercompressed industrialisation (somebosy said skipped timeskip) and the fact that there are no atheists.
