Forgot to mention that the Home Depot employee who helped me find the water absorbers said, “You only have to get a city permit if you’re installing the water heater up to code. You don’t have to install it up to code.” He had no idea he was talking to #SafetyBitch.

Ahhh, dangit, I’m sorry. But #SafetyBitch appreciates how hard the decision is.

While this isn’t necessarily a safety issue, it does feel safety adjacent, which reminded me that each time I trim my candle wicks to .25 of an inch - which I do before each time I light one - I often nod to myself and think how much #SafetyBitch would approve.

Finchy, no! I’m not fully recovered yet and now you’re in the joint?! Who is watching out for #SafetyBitch violations?! One of us has to be on duty!

#SafetyBitch report: just installed two standalone carbon monoxide monitors to replace the ADT one at the end of its life. I also looked up the New Mexico Gas Company emergency number and added it to my phone contacts. Finally, I performed a monthly test of all my smoke alarms!

It’s infuriating to see your neighbor drive away with four inches of snow piled on their car and all their windows obscured, especially when you’ve been shoveling your sidewalk to be a good neighbor. People, you must clean the snow off your cars! It’s dangerous! #SafetyBitch

(I wore disposable gloves and an N95 when spraying the acetic acid, of course. Also my UPF shirt and my UPF sun hat.) #SafetyBitch

We just got the list of rules for holiday decorations at the HQ building (I work from home in another state), and I would absolutely love to be the clipboard-wielding #SafetyBitch who shut down people’s hazardous cubicle decorations.

I think Neighborhood Door Patrol is a collateral duty of #SafetyBitch.

#SafetyBitch is feeling extremely stupid right now! I had to clean the snow off my car with a canvas grocery bag!

It looked like this. It didn’t have a seat. The man was wearing a helmet and elbow pads, which I thought was smart. #SafetyBitch

I wore shorts while operating an electric string trimmer and I did not get pelted in the shin with a rock. I will learn the wrong lesson from this. #SafetyBitch

I heard thunder, but that’s not the reason I quit doing yardwork and came back inside. I quit doing yardwork and came back inside because yardwork fucking sucks and it makes me want to [redacted]. #SafetyBitch
