A woman on a pale bike stopped in the square outside the Mercat Central in Valencia, looking back at something behind me.

A woman and her dog. She was listening to her phone, while her dog sat on her lap.

November 2022 and it was raining in Dublin, but under the arches of the GPO people had a break from the deluge.

Most of the Mercado Central in Valencia sells food. This stall sold stamps pinned to a board, trays of enamel pins, old banknotes and coins under glass, and a row of faded rum, vermouth and brandy labels along the front. Such a collection of some unusual items and all sorts of things.

At the Friday market in Bantry the second-hand traders were out in the car park, past the food stalls, with their stock laid out on the tarmac. So much stuff to look at and some bargains to be found if you looked hard enough.
