I’m in Canberra. Born and bred Sandgroper from the suburbs of Perth. You can take the Sandgroper out of the West, but a Sandgroper one will always be.

general sentiment I not so infrequently feel, but also as a sandgroper it's absolutely decapitating to have the plight of the online sandgroper not only identified, but put so eloquently the someone in Melbourne might actually read it (let alone the rest of the world).

Antony disappointed in the speed of the count, my parochial Sandgroper comes out in embarrassment #wavotes

the sandgroper, an insect endemic to western australia, has the functional components to make sounds near it's mandibles yet there is no record of them using them to make sound.

this begs the question of what their call will herald.

Campbell’s Sandgroper (Cylindracheta campbelli) from Herbert, NT, observed by ©aeshpaige.

A rarely seen underground insect that lives in sandy soils, with very few recorded observations.

Another patriotic vote for me today, Putnisite is even closer to home being a sandgroper (from Western Australia) too!
#MinCup26 Round 1 Match 9:
It’s a pair of tiny minerals with unusual chemistry as hafnium-containing #Hafnon battles with strontium/chromium-containing #Putnisite.

Just as in Joh and Russ time in Qld: WA is not ashamed of itself - they’re proud of themselves.

Just as they demand subsidy when commodity prices are low, yet scream blue fkn murder if asked to pay tax when commodity prices are high.

That’s what it is to be a Sandgroper.

We follow Mai on her quest to the Valley of a Thousand Thoughts, and come upon a terrifying sandgroper, a mountain lair and a spider-flax – not just any spider-flax, but one that must be milked by the most annoying brother to accompany a girl on a pilgrimage.
