Now that the first phase of @hcrichardson.bsky.social's wonderful "250 to 250" project has wrapped, I'll share all the videos (one per day) for which I wrote scripts. Some were recorded nearly word for word; others underwent much-needed editing for clarity and brevity.

Tonight: Sandra Day O’Connor.

If you haven't heard, @hcrichardson.bsky.social is doing a project called 250 to 250 to honor our nation's birth. I narrated one of the short videos she's putting together, honoring Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVUY...

BSo the judge and clerk types who work at the Sandra Day O'Connor Federal Courthouse in Phoenix were surprised on Tuesday when all the people who run the building were fired with no explanation or warning. This is your life on GSA/DOGE, I'm told. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/build...

At one point, Sandra Day O'Connor founded an internet company to teach people civics. I just looked it up and it still exists!

The Supreme Court today is holding an invitation-only bar memorial for the late Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

The memorial will be livestreamed—which is a nice reminder that the court is perfectly capable of livestreaming oral arguments if it really wanted to.

Sandra Day O'Connor retiring shifted the court from conservative to ultra- conservative, but Kennedy could have kept it from going full fascist and he chose not to, so I don't really care if he regrets that now.
Justice Anthony Kennedy tells @npr.org's @ninatotenberg.bsky.social "very worried" about our country, and that "Democracy is not guaranteed to survive."

Kennedy wrote Citizens United and was the fifth vote in the rest of the Roberts Court's anti-democratic decisions.

I’m a true believer in the Roberts Rudeness Index

There’s something very Sandra Day O’Connor about it — jurisprudence guided by a generalized aversion to things that seem rude, distasteful, or uncouth

YES!!!!

Sandra Day O'Connor had a mission to bring Civics Ed back to public schools. PROPER TRUTHFUL Civics Ed, that is. She saw this coming.

For @thelouvreof.bsky.social I do believe we have our Mona Lisa

("I clerked for Sandra Day O'Connor" might be the GOAT reply)
Respectfully, are you a lawyer? You’re over-reading the elements of the statutes, plus making jury/not guilty arguments. Only probable cause, not guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, is required to charge. The FBI affidavit has that regarding the statutory elements.
