One of the big D23 Fan Club goals was to "consume and control fandom" in the wake of Roy O., SaveDisney, and Al Lutz - so there was some major friction.
I'd argue they were successful for many years, but now with top fandom going to 'whatever gets me views', feels like it's a wild card again.
