#ScabPicking
Suspect that, roughly, tropes vs themes or, even more broadly, form vs content is a surprisingly close proxy for hugboxing vs scabpicking.
There was a post that said this more or less but I can’t find it so: it’s just the worst when you ask someone what their book is about and they’re like “It’s an NB/sapphic enemies to lovers with no bury your gays or fridging!” Ok bestie what’s it about though

Quote-posting a second time to put emphasis on "you should click and go read this!!" It has great thoughts in it.

While I do not cosign the binary of "hugbox // scabpicking"

I can admit I am probably more of a scab-picker queer creatively. I'm not sorry.

Hello #writers of the #writingcommunity . I know you’ve heard of excoriation and I’m sure you’ve seen it. The scab picker, etc.. you may have even wondered why they didn’t just stop. For those with the disorder, it’s not that easy. So I wrote #prose as though I were the disorder itself. #Poetry
