Hugo nominated writer of Last War in Albion, Neoreaction a Basilisk, and TARDIS Eruditorum. Anarcho-occultist. The girl your mother lacked the imagination to warn you about.

Today in the Hugo-losing Last War in Albion, Alan Moore takes his bow for Volume 4 with the murky horror of Voice of the Fire.
Chapter Seven: And Engulfed Each Single Thing (Voice of the Fire)
Entertainingly, I had to queue this up before I left for Worldcon so I have absolutely no idea whether I won a Hugo last night or not. Either way, I'll be publishing Last War in Albion Volume 2: The W...

Rough news for AI. Never a good sign when Time declares you a tipping point, lemme tell you.

The problem is that "while you weren't looking the tech industry was comprehensively taken over by a cult based around a piece of Harry Potter fanfic" is self-evidently an absolutely ridiculous claim that can't possibly have happened, which is a real problem given that it 100% did happen.
The U.S. AI industry is being run by a batshit rationalist sex cult, and no, I am not being hyperbolic - they’re genuinely Like That:

I‘d love for Last War in Albion v2 to add “#1 Best-Selling comics criticism book” to its list of astonishingly niche accomplishments like “lost a minor Hugo Award.” So if you’re considering getting it, there’s no better time than now. www.amazon.com/Last-War-Alb...

It’s fascinating to me that Schoenbrun is the trans filmmaker to break through and get widespread cis acclaim. Not that she doesn’t deserve it. Just that she’s absolutely from the pervert freak wing of the Community, and you don’t instinctively expect that to be where the popular success comes from.
All I'm going to say is that if you love movies you need to see Teenage Sex and at Camp Miasma. If you didn't like it, I don't want to hear about it because your opinion is wrong.

One of the few pleasures of the Trump era is watching people invent new kinds of bad day to have in real time.
PATEL: The previous regulation automatically disqualified any individual who participated in either side of it

KENNEDY: Either side of beastiality? So you disqualified the animal?

P: Well, we have great canines, but we're not going to disqualify them

K: I'm trying to understand why you did this.

Hugely recommended.

If you can afford it I would recommend following on Patreon as well. The recent writing on volume 1 of the Invisibles has been incredible.

I mean, on the one hand it was only Al Kooper. On the other, I’d not had my meds yet.
If you’re ever wondering whether ADHD meds help, @penn-fp.bsky.social, who for years suffered from what he called the “noun hole” in which all proper nouns go to die, just casually identified a session guy on the album we’re listening to based on a couple notes.

The way you change a candidate’s mind is by withholding your vote from them until they adopt a position acceptable to you. Once you’ve made it clear you’ll vote for them even if they throw you under the bus, they’ve lost all incentive not to throw you under the bus.
Do you think holding an absolute stance right this minute about 10 trans women playing sports is a good move in the face of future where all trans people lose all their rights? If Dems questioning about sports get elected *you can still work to change their minds*, can't do that with Trump II

It seems to me that if people are worried about their candidates losing because trans people vote against them then they should probably stop running candidates that alienate trans voters.

It’s 9/11, and you all know what that means: it’s time for another installment of America a Prophecy, my annual blog series on what is plausibly the worst comic strip ever published, the 9/11/11 installment of Barney Google and Snuffy Smith.
America a Prophecy 6: From Mothman to Bob Murray (A Study in Appalachian Monstrosity)

Well, I had to redo the typesetting on Cuddled Little Vice, and there's a tiny glitch on the cover that I need to wait for James to fix, but this is looking good to go.
All righty. Let’s see how you look and if you’re ready to publish.

Haven’t given a cent to DC since this happened. Don’t intend to start again any time soon. Even worse than when they sacked Samuel Delaney.
Now that a year has passed and no one alive cares about him anymore, it really shows to go ya how cowardly it was for DC Comics to fire my pal @scumbelievable.bsky.social for calling a universally acknowledged bigot a bigot and reacting to his death accordingly
