#Scandanavian
I can’t even with these dumbfucks. The definition of socialism as an economic form of governance is socialism. Thanks a lot, Brainiac. You’ve really done us a solid with that simple explanation. <these morons don't realize the Scandanavian countries are socialist> 24/

Everyone would like scandanavian levels of state support for people, but there seems less enthusiasm to support the tax funding that requires it.

Yes but it still leaves British pensioners worse off in terms of state support than eg our Scandanavian, French or German equivalents. In case you hadn't noticed the cost of living aint exactly inconsiderable here these days.

Sassafrass84. You drank the whole pitcher didn't you? FYI. Social democracies like Scandanavian countries as a whole are doing much better than we are. Norway & Denmark in particular. The people there do actually work!! They believe the govt should care about its ppl. Not murder them in cold blood

Also watched City of Shadow which was set in Barcelona so that's breaking a bit of my nordic/scandanavian noir shows but it too was just good. Complex topics to tackle, I think I wish it wrapped up a little better as well- both it and The Glass Dome had weaker endings but they were fine.

did you hear about the scandanavian choir that sang a song about mortal kombat? it was a finnish hymn.

Tbh I’m already paying for YouTube so their ads don’t talk to me or my son ever again, but I keep paying the scandanavian warmonger with a dream for UI & all my playlists mostly. But I’m increasingly ready to leave them behind.

A similar term developed for the names of the Germanic runic alphabets: The Scandanavian runes were called “futhark”, taken from the names of the first six letters of the script: ⟨F, U, Þ, A, R, K⟩ (the letter thorn ⟨Þ⟩ represented a “th” /θ/ sound).

Yeah, that's kind of how I come to it, too; 0% scandanavian, happened to grow up among hypernationalist Danish weirdos, suuuuuper enjoy my no-skin-in-the-game outsider's perspective on the whole thing

what's it like living in Minneapolis? well, backstage before the PILLLAR show, the greenroom talk was about intra Scandanavian hatred and how a dude from one of the bands had Danish-immigrant grandparents who helped burn down an empty church to keep Swedes from desecrating it by taking it over

Harold, as the name indicates, was of Scandanavian heritage.

Just brainstorming, but maybe instead of hard Scandanavian benches where the back is at a weird angle to the seat there could be like, couches? Or instead of tiny backless stools there could be chairs? And coffee tables? And instead of just grey, white & blond wood things could be, I dunno, a color?

I cannot remember the name of the other guy, but he was a Scandanavian transplant who was real big on LessWrong circa 1919. MIRI guy thought AI was going to kill us all, Scandanavian guy thought AI wasn't possible at all and they threw punches over it while maybe high as shit on mushrooms.

Jobs paid better during that time period because they had better support for unions. Many of those jobs are becoming minimum wage jobs. Scandanavian countries don’t have minimum wage because they had enough support for unions.

I'm African American with a lot of "Carolina Creole" as it were

Because of that Scottish-British mix...my DNA also shows French, Danish and Scandanavian

They're very mongrelized

Conversely, Norway took the name from signage in Finland warning travelers to not attempt that route. Kyllaway and Norway was a common pair of signs on forks in the Scandanavian roads during the 15th century.

The Danish Frogmen Corps, Norway's MJK, Sweden's SOG & Kustjägarna, and FInland's ETO are uniquely qualified to operate in the Artic environment. The Scandanavian units train and cross-train alongside the U.S. Navy SEALs, the British SBS France's FORFUSCO/COS, & Germany's KSM.

I want my fully automated gay luxury space communism.

In the meantime, I'd really rather have the Scandanavian model to what we've got going on.

You lack the critical thinking skills required to understand that those scandanavian countries are allowed to exist because they continue to be capitalist. Theyre still slaves to capitalism. You are literally telling people to give up instead of "betting our life savings". Youre a coward

Ok, hear me out. A Lord of the Rings re-make, but with these two taking the One Ring to Mordor:

at the saint petersburg dump, ed has to marry someone, just for convenience of course. ed and stede are graceful with an annoyed anne bonny. it's the volcanic conclave. the story is called "it's a hard life" and it's rated pg. it's a a scandanavian au.

Social democracy preserves the contradictions of capitalism, only with the added concessions of social welfare programs. They're being gutted in Scandanavian countries right now.

The difference between social democrats (the scandanavian model) and democratic socialists. Don't let people fool you into believing they are the same.
