Just found out my little horror piece took 3rd in my group in the #ScaryStoryChallenge.
Looks like I'll be quite busy on the contest front this weekend.
Oh boy!

"Holy crap, I got first place!" was my exact reaction to seeing the results for the nycmidnight #ScaryStoryChallenge. I wasn't as confident with this one and had convinced myself round 2 was where I left the competition, but looks like I'm in the finals!

Yes! Success in writing a story...
Whether it's scary enough is another matter entirely.
Also, only 8 hours left on the clock... few!

Well, that was a lot more difficult than expected. Not completely sold on what I've created, and though still 18 hours left till deadline, I won't be able to write tomorrow, so in it goes! #scarystorychallenge @nycmidnight.bsky.social

I signed up for the NYC Midnight Scary Story Challenge. The maximum word count is 400 words.
First draft? 536 words. Somehow I got it down to 409 words. Now after a few minor changes it’s up to 428 words… Good thing I’ve still got a few hours to work on it.

Go time for the #ScaryStoryChallenge for NYC Midnight (well, 3pm Saturday arvo for me). But, it's a stormy and rainy day in Sydney so perfect for staying in and making up things. And rather fitting to get "rain" as the assigned scare for my story.

Ultimately, I'm up against 3,662 other writers.
Practically, I'm up against the other 40-ish writers in my group.
Good luck everyone!

Stoked to have placed 5th in the @nycmidnight.bsky.social scary story challenge! This was my first time entering this competition, so I still can't quite believe I got this far.

Final story written for the @nycmidnight.bsky.social #ScaryStoryChallenge. Now I just have to leave it be til tomorrow and give it a fresh edit. Hopefully it doesn't need any more words 🤞 I only have a few to spare.

Day 30???
#43daysofwritinginsanity
Completed both #ScaryStoryChallenge & #WBAutumn today and I am beat.
Tomorrow marks the start of the second 3-day break before #FuriousFiction & hopefully #RhymingStoryChallenge next weekend.
It's great to be a #contestgoblin.

After three failed ideas and a lot of tinkering, I think I'm done. But seeing as I still have 19 hours, I think I will sleep on it before I seal the deal.
