The district’s school start‑time committee will continue deliberations in early November and aims to bring a recommendation to the Board of Education at the Nov. 17 meeting; options include lengthening the high‑school day by about 20 minutes to provide scheduled lunch periods and adjust bus routing.

Central-office staff described an elementary scheduling pilot (two schools) that proposes 40-minute single blocks, 85-minute double blocks, 5-minute passing, a 40-minute intervention block, and moving breakfast before school; secondary changes include Penwood Middle adjustments and a 30-minute "Rise Block" at Ninth Grade Academy.

Facility supervisor Don Evans updated the board on progress at Hyde Park Elementary, Hyde Park Middle and Nibley Middle, citing substantial progress on tilt panels, roofing, sprinklers and interior work but saying the elementary project is on a tight schedule and the district expects clarity on that site's status by Jan. 15.
