ScifiMonth 2026 is full of stars
I’m late to the launch pad, but delighted to confirm that ScifiMonth will be blasting off as usual this November for our annual celebration of one of our favourite genres. With the Artemis mission earlier this year, our eyes are set on the stars - will you join us for a month of delighting in all things SFnal? What is ScifiMonth?

I skipped the short stories, so it feels like a long while since we read the Ancillary trilogy, but our Imperial Radch-along continues this month with Provenance. I’m loving being back in this universe, and intrigued by our new characters and setting…
Provenance: week one
I skipped the short stories, so it feels like a long while since we read the Ancillary trilogy, but our Imperial Radch-along continues this month with Provenance. This is the first of three stand-alone novels that expand the Imperial Radch universe - we’ll be reading all three, finishing with Radiant Star in ScifiMonth if you care to join us.

Having been enthralled by our visit to the Imperial Radch during ScifiMonth, we’re continuing our read-along this year with Ancillary Sword because there’s no way we’re waiting for next November to find out what Breq does next. Expect spoilers from the get-go as this is the first of four discussion

Happy Sunday Womble! I’ve just started Ancillary Sword by Ann Leckie as we continue our @scifimonth.bsky.social read-along (every month is SciFiMonth, shh) and have just finished the delectable audio edition of Sarah Gailey’s Spread Me (narrated by Xe Sands)

What, you thought #ScifiMonth2025 was over with November? Heck no, not until the final mission logs. Sometimes life finds a way, sometimes it gets in the way, so it’s taken a few weeks longer than usual to wrangle these. Grab a cuppa and revisit the fun…
#ScifiMonth Mission Log
What, you thought ScifiMonth was all done in November? Heck no, we’re not done until the final mission logs. Sometimes life finds a way, sometimes it just gets in the way, so it’s taken a few weeks longer than usual to get to the final wrap posts, but maybe that means we can enjoy them all the more. Grab a cuppa, and let’s revisit the SF love shared in the second half of November.

I was able to squeeze in the sequel to Man of Many Minds for #SciFiMonth. It was even better! I'm happy I had time to read it making it to six books total. 🚀 See you next November! 🛸

November was busy with work and fun - time to look back at my (re)reading and adventures before I hunker down for winter...
Redux: ScifiMonth 2025
This month has been so full I've already misremembered most of the highlights as having happened earlier in the year! I started the month on a mini-holiday on the Fife coast, before diving into the Inverness Film Festival (reviews coming soon) and finally settling into SF reads for ScifiMonth. I also started new meds to try and settle my migraines back down, so here's hoping that makes 2026 manageable in spite of what will be an exciting but relentless year at work.

This was my fifth book for #SciFiMonth a memoir by Rod (The Twilight Zone) Serling's daughter. It was one of those books I wanted to turn around and immediately re-read. My city was Rod's hometown and this statue is only a few blocks from my house. www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

#ScifiMonth2015 Day 30: My goal this month was to read Stanislaw Lem's The Invincible. I managed it and....WOW! This is one of the best sci-fi books ever!. And why the heck hasn't it been adapted a million times?!

Ancillary Justice: week four

It is the finale of our ScifiMonth read-along of this modern classic. Fair to say we have relished the read and the discussions, as it was an almost unanimous YAY when the question was asked about continuing the trilogy in the new year. Consequently this isn't the last…

It is the finale of our ScifiMonth read-along of this modern classic. Fair to say we have relished the read and the discussions, as it was an almost unanimous YAY when the question was asked about continuing the trilogy in the new year. Consequently this isn't the last week of the Radch read-along - just the last for now...

This was my fourth book for #SciFiMonth. Books two and three were one star duds. It was my vintage read and I loved it. I'm glad I have the sequel. It's a duology. 🌌 www.goodreads.com/book/show/39...

#Book #review:  Hard to be a God by Arkady & Boris #Strugatsky wordsandpeace.com/2025/02/19/b...
Book review:  Hard to be a God
MY VERDICT: A powerful meditation on progress, power, and the role of intellectuals that feels frighteningly relevant today.

This was my first title for #SciFiMonth I have had the ebooks forever from $1.99 sales and decided to start them. After a slow beginning the story blossomed into something wonderful. I am excited to read the next one, but am going to wait until I read the other Sci-Fi books I have on on deck.🚀
