This is why I stopped paying proofreaders + scopists to help me with my work.
None of them were very good & a waste of my time/money.
I just do it myself & my product is solid. I can’t handle multiple edits over the most trivial things. 🙃

Scopists make more, but the barrier to entry is higher and the work is harder. When I work with scopists, I probably pay them on average about $200 per job. I’m unsure how many jobs they can take per week. Maybe 3?

Abs (I hope it’s okay if I refer to you as this, and/or Six Pack), have you looked into becoming a scopist for court reporters? Pay is good ($50+ an hour) and there’s a crap ton of work in LA for the gig. Scopists are in demand and get to work from home.
