One of my first quilts, made in about 1974. Colorful fabric scraps sewn to a base fabric. The shape was to fit my antique bed frame. It had constant use until it became a shredded rag.

3/3 In the meantime I'm spending lots of time looking at patterns and feeling desperately uninspired. I have a huge stash and can't seem to find anything I want to make. Sigh. No wonder I make so many scrap quilts.

It's finished. Made of African waxprint fabrics, dyed bedsheets and some solid scraps. I did some bigstitchquilting, but not too much to keep it soft and cosy.

I had to use blue strips between the rows as I was short one row. 🙄😬 But I kinda like it. Two quilt tops, all because I was trying to use up a stack of squares. And I used four lengths of my stash!!!

Chandelier quilt top hangs off the back of quilt covering my French doors/design walls. It’s scrappy. Each block is of 3 colors in the same range (ie, 2 smaller different reds with larger red block).

The third of three crumb quilt tops is done. See those blue strips in the middle? I meant to do that. It's not that I didn't measure and ran out of the red/pink because I just started cutting and sewing. No way. Who would do that? Not me.

Second crumb quilt done! This one went way faster with the wide sashing. I don't like it as much as the wonky sashing but this one didn't hurt my dinosaur pea brain, so... worth it!

I have a stack of finished crumb blocks in adult, ie. more boring colours. There's a few bright spots and even though there are no teddy bears or kitty cats, there are a few chickens running amok. Because there was no one here to stop me.
