Whisky and oysters: How the Isle of Skye is protecting its waters
THE Isle of Skye community has held its first annual community oyster count, hosted by local island distillers. The event was the result of a partnership between marine conservation charity Seawilding and Talisker Distillery. The count, carried out by the local community, uncovered promising levels of native oysters in local waters. The oyster Count was supported by Talisker Distillery This is an encouraging sign for the island’s marine ecosystems, as oysters play an important role in supporting life beneath the waves.
