This is a tricky one #smutcember! Looking back most of my stories start sizzling at the 30-40% mark. In #secretswekeep they bang on pg 168 (there's 406 pgs) so pretty early? But their first kiss doesn't happen until pg 126. So not fast either, at least in my mind.

In #secretswekeep both Lyric and Zane are dealing with their past traumas in their own self-destructive ways. Lyric has built an emotional and physical fortress around herself, while Zane hides behind his happy-go-lucky persona.

I write 1st person so I usually pick whoever viewpoint has the most emotional vulnerability.
In #secretswekeep the lead up is from Lyric because she's been through trauma and I want to show she's 💯 into it. But the rest is from Zane because he fears he will do something to trigger her
