Declaring a “war between good and evil” based on whether someone believes in your god is exactly the kind of religious tribalism our secular Constitution was designed to prevent.

Believing in God doesn't make you good. Not believing doesn't make you evil.

I spend more time on this site than I would like blocking secular/Christian people using Jews to justify their islamaphobia and using Muslims to justify their antisemitism.

We are a secular nation. We do not have a state religion. We are not a “Christian nationalist” country.

We are a free nation. We must not have a masked federal militia. We must never be a “show me your papers” country.

Vote.

Interesting that the concept of "secular stagnation" went viral just as inflation was putting in its secular low.

Also known as secular Satmar
a number of vocal people on internet (though not necessarily a large number of humans overall) think that spending a few minutes once every 1-2 years checking a box that says 'make things suck somewhat less' is bad for reasons that can really only be distilled to 'it will impurify my immortal soul'

also, paradoxically, the relative absence of extreme religious transphobia, which makes secular centrists more comfortable with it.

That is not secular talk
Very strange that a healthy 53 year old Democratic Senator who was just speaking out against Trump's illegal war against Iran and calling out their new plot suffers a stroke but 93 year old republican senator Chuck Grassley is just fine

there was an interesting thing happening at the time where evangelical culture did in fact realize that it was simpatico with secular trends (stomp clap, preachers n sneakers) but the relationship was parasitic, not a hijacking like OP suggests

As an obnoxiously militant atheist, my disdain for Islam is no secret, but I'll take a secular left wing Muslim like Abdul El Sayed over a MAGA Christian nationalist ANY DAY.

our rule, and i'm open to critique, is that secular christmas music is available anytime after halloween, for instance chipmunks christmas, and then religious christmas music is only for after thanksgiving, which is essentially the beginning of advent anyway

You'd be wrong: the Likud end of the Zionist movement are ethnonationalist supremacists who have more in common with Nazis than secular Jews. As far as they're concerned their secular co-religionists are traitors. Fascists have an affinity for their own kind.

It's a great day to support candidates who support a liberal, secular democracy and not those who will rubber-stamp White Christian Nationalist authoritarianism.

The Secular Student Alliance’s new acting director spent more than a decade working at a university known for promoting chiropractic and naturopathic medicine.

The SSA board chair told me her views on those fields are irrelevant.
