We finally got a few clear nights here. This was my latest observation, it's known as M5. It's a globular cluster in the constellation Serpens

Meet Hoag’s Object, a ring galaxy full of mystery. Hoag’s Object is around 600 million light-years away in the constellation Serpens. The galaxy spans about 120,000 light-years wide making it slightly larger than our Milky Way Galaxy.

Stunning Beauty

Eagle Nebula (M16) 5,700 ly away in Serpens. The nebula formed ~1.51 million years ago

In the center you can make out the Hubble famous "Pillars of Creation"

Not bad for my back yard

In 2019, I was just getting into narrowband and attempted to image the faint planetary nebula Yerkes-McDonald 16 in Serpens Cauda. The image was a mess and my processing skills suspect, but I kept the data. Reprocessed today and was pleasantly surprised! #astrophotography #astronomy

Stunning: The Eagle Nebula (Messier 16) in the constellation Serpens is a rich star-forming region featuring the iconic Pillars of Creation, surrounded by numerous stars at different stages of evolution and distances.
